The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT), which metamorphed into the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) in September 2021, was established to increase victim safety and reduce the commision of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in the state to the barest minimum.<\/p>\n

The Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency Law, 2021, provides that the Agency is to emback\u00a0 on various advocacy and sensitzation programs, with a view of incresing awareness about Sexual and Gender Based Violence and support services available in the state.<\/p>\n

You are all welcome to this educative lecture on “The Issue Surrounding Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) on Campus. It’s On Us”.<\/p>\n

As long as humanity exists and there is Male and there is Female, the issues of gender and Sexual Violence will continue to be part of our existence.<\/p>\n

Sexual Violence cuts across race, colour, gender, social status and can take place in any setting\/anywhere and everywhere – in every country and across all segment of the society.<\/p>\n

A person may be subjected to sexual violence or exploitation at home, school or in the community. Most often, abuse occurs at the hands of someone known and trusted. Any individual can be abused – Male or Female, though this behavious affects one gender than the other, the experience is never a palatable one for the victim.<\/p>\n

This Morning, the speaker spoke extensively on the danger inherent in sexual violence and how to prevent occurence of such on our Campus.<\/p>\n
